Redditch United are delighted to announce the signing of Harry Leeson.
Whilst impressing throughout pre-season, with many fans hopeful of his signature, we are pleased to welcome the 20-year-old to the Reds.
Leeson has been trialling with the club for the past few weeks, playing as a right back and right wing-back predominately, with the occasional spell in midfield. His footballing career developed with Bristol City as he earned his way up through the Robins’ ranks, becoming a regular for their U21s and making the substitute bench on four occasions for the Championship side managed by Nigel Pearson. Through his progress with Bristol City, he was called up to the Wales youth setup on multiple occasions, featuring for the U18s, U19s and the U21s. At the end of the 2023/24 season, his Bristol City contract came to an end and he now resides with Redditch United.
The boss gave us his thoughts on his latest bit of business ahead of the new season; “Harry has been with us for a few weeks, training and getting minutes in the game. With Brad Burton being injured and throughout the summer we’ve had to get cover. Harry can play right back, right wing-back and has played in central midfield in pre-season. He’s very comfortable on the ball, has a good delivery into the box and had a good game against Swindon. A few of the supporters at half time made remarks about how well he’s played. He lives locally, over towards Evesham, so he comes and joins us which gives us a starting lineup and bench at Lowestoft whilst still having Kartell Dawkins and Brad Burton injured, and Max Martin is suspended for the game. We’re pleased to have Harry on board with us and look forward to working with him.”
Welcome to the Reds, Harry.
Harry is available for selection for our opening game of the season against Lowestoft Town.
