Following a highly successful first season at the helm, Redditch United Football Club is delighted to announce that Men’s First Team Manager, Mike Fowler, has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract.
The new agreement will allow Mike to focus his full attention on leading and developing the Men’s First Team as the club continues to build towards an exciting future both on and off the pitch.
Mike’s continued involvement across both the first team and academy pathway will ensure that player development remains at the heart of the club’s long term strategy, while allowing him to dedicate greater focus to achieving success with the senior squad.
As part of this new structure, Mike will step down from his position as Academy Manager. While he will remain closely involved in the academy setup and continue to play an important role in strengthening the pathway between the education programme and first team football, the academy’s significant growth means that its day to day operation and management will now be led through a newly created role.
Mike Fowler commented to say:

We’ve seen first hand the quality of players that can come through the programme, and I’m excited to continue supporting that pathway while giving my full focus to helping the first team progress and achieve its ambitions.”
The club is pleased to confirm that it will shortly begin the recruitment process for this key position. A full job description, person specification and application process will be published in the coming days, with applications welcomed from ambitious and passionate individuals who share the club’s vision for player development.
The academy pathway has already produced a number of outstanding success stories in recent years. This season, players including Billy Fielding, Jimmy Richardson, Joe Neeson and Omari Brown have successfully progressed through the education pathway into first team football, demonstrating the strength of the programme and the opportunities available to young players at Redditch United.
Current first team player Robbie Bunn is another excellent example of the pathway’s success. Having come through the club’s education programme in partnership with HoW College, Robbie progressed into senior football and has now made more than 130 appearances for The Reds.
The club is committed to building on these successes and creating even more opportunities for talented young footballers to make the step into senior football.
