Redditch United suffered a narrow successive defeat in the league after a narrow 1-0 loss away at Stratford Town. An own goal would prove to be the difference between the two sides.
Robbie Bunn and Tyler Bruck returned to the starting XI, whilst Max Ram and Joel Shambrook also came back onto the bench.
The first chance fell to the home side, when Dan Lafferty was played through on goal, but his effort was held well by Tyrese Warmington.
Redditch came close when Harrison Mole’s cross found Tyler Bruck in the box. A lovely turn then saw his shot fall to Alex Cameron, whose effort was cleared away on the line, before Danny King curled his shot just wide.
In the 37th minute, Liam Loughlan played in Bruck down the left, who crossed to Aram Soleman on the edge of the box. He was brought down, but the referee allowed play to continue. Mole then fouled Owen James on the break and was subsequently booked.
The rest of the first half remained scrappy, without much quality or many chances from either side.
After the break, there was a neat Redditch move as Loughlan played Warburton in the box; the latter dribbled along the edge of the area, but dragged his effort wide.
Loughlan was then played in behind and looked to be through on goal, but the Stratford defender made a vital challenge at the last second to deny the chance.
On the hour mark, the Reds came close yet again when Danny King drove down the right flank and squared the ball across goal for Bruck, who skied his effort over the bar.
The Bards took the lead in the 81st minute after a scramble in the box from a corner, where the ball bounced off a Redditch man, Omari Brown, finding its way into the back of the net.
New arrival Charlie Wragg was then played in behind and with Warmington off his line, the score looked set to be 2-0. However, a poor touch allowed for Morgan Owen to deal with the danger.
Redditch piled on the pressure late on, but it was not enough to force an equaliser, and the referee blew for full-time to seal the narrow defeat.
