Redditch United earned a well-deserved victory over Sporting Club Inkberrow in their third pre-season friendly. Tyler Bruck opened the scoring before Robbie Bunn and Liam Loughlan added to the scoresheet.

There was only one change to the squad from the victory over Worcester Raiders, with Danny King coming in to replace Harry Eden after a change in formation.

The first effort of the game fell to the away side, as Reece Flanagan had an effort from distance, but it was just wide of the top corner.

An opener was close in the 15th minute when Joel Shambrook’s cross was cleared to King on the edge of the area. His shot rolled across the face of goal and was inches away from being tapped in by a lingering Reds forward.

Mike Fowler’s men continued to pile on the pressure as Loughlan had a low effort saved before Bruck’s audacious lob was palmed away off the line by the Inkberrow goalkeeper.

The ‘keeper was then involved again as he was caught out of possession outside his area and Loughlan slotted home what he thought was the opener, but the referee called back for a foul.

It was all square at the break, but Redditch were looking the more dominant side in the first half.

Instantly after the restart, Bruck had his first goal for the club when King cut back low across goal for his teammate, who struck first-time into the near top corner.

Inkberrow had a chance as their number 9 evaded the challenge down the right-hand side, before squaring it across to the unmarked number 10, but his effort was hit well over.

Shambrook did well to get the cross in from the right-hand side, but King’s header was just wide of the near post.

The home ‘keeper was under scrutiny once again as he almost spilt Dudley-Toole’s cross into his own net.

Robbie Bunn won the ball back in midfield before driving forward and firing home a powerful strike to double his side’s lead.

In the 83rd minute, Bunn had another effort which was parried to Loughlan in the middle, who made no mistake of slotting home into an empty net to seal a dominant victory for Redditch United, and a second win in a row for Mike Fowler.

Redditch United XI: Flahavan; Shambrook, Hull, Roberts, Dudley-Toole; Flanagan (C), Bunn, Loughlan; King, Bruck, Cameron.

Subs: Neeson, Ward (72’), Eden (72’), McNulty (62’), Trialist A (80’), Trialist B (72’), Trialist C (80’).
