Redditch United Represents Local Football on International Stage at Nike’s European HQ

Redditch United Football Club are proud to announce that Chairman David Faulkner recently represented the club at Nike’s European Headquarters in Hilversum, Netherlands, as part of the Reddit Media Mixer at Nike Media Partner Day.

David was invited as a guest speaker to share his first-hand experience of building a sporting community, providing attendees with insight into the challenges, dedication, and rewards of running a football club. The event offered a unique platform for Redditch United to showcase the growing importance of non-league football, grassroots sport, and community-driven initiatives on an international stage.

Speaking at the event, David Faulkner shared insights into the journey of Redditch United, highlighting the daily dedication required to build and sustain a thriving sports community. He also reflected on the role platforms like Reddit can play in amplifying stories, strengthening engagement, and creating new opportunities for clubs operating at the heart of their towns.

“To be able to speak about Redditch United – and our town – at an event hosted by global icons such as Nike and Reddit is something I could never have imagined just a few years ago,” said David Faulkner. “Being invited as a guest speaker to talk about building a sporting community was an incredible opportunity to share our story and connect with people who care about the same values we do.”

The trip also provided valuable networking opportunities, including a dinner with employees from both Nike and Reddit, as well as a chance to learn from leading experts in sport, media, and technology.

Since forming an official partnership with Reddit, Inc. just over a year ago, Redditch United has seen growing engagement, new ways of telling its story, and increased awareness beyond Worcestershire. The collaboration demonstrates the power of digital platforms in supporting local clubs to reach wider audiences while staying true to their grassroots values.

“It’s only been a year since we began our partnership with Reddit, but the opportunities and conversations it has created are extraordinary,” added Faulkner. “We’re excited to see where this journey takes us next, and we remain committed to making Redditch United a source of pride for our town and an example of how football clubs can make a real impact in their communities.”

Redditch United would like to thank Reddit for their continued support and hospitality, as well as everyone who helped make the trip such a memorable and inspiring experience.
