Redditch United Part Company with Manager Matt Clarke

Redditch United Part Company with Manager Matt Clarke

Redditch United Football Club can today confirm that Men’s First Team Manager Matt Clarke has departed the club by mutual consent.

This decision has not been made lightly and follows extensive discussions between Matt and the Club’s Board in recent weeks.

The Club would like to place on record its sincere gratitude to Matt for everything he has contributed during his time with us. He initially took charge during a challenging period and leaves with the Club in a far stronger position, both on and off the pitch.

Having served as a player, captain, Assistant Manager, and Manager, Matt’s legacy at Redditch United is significant. He will always be considered part of the Redditch United family.

Chairman David Faulkner commented:

Matt’s time with us has been hugely successful. While recent form has been difficult, this only reflects the incredibly high standards he helped set. Matt transformed the club’s reputation, raised expectations among our supporters, and elevated how we are viewed within the local non-league community.

The instability that followed Matt’s temporary departure last year, and the managerial change earlier this season that led to his return, undoubtedly contributed to our recent results. But that should not overshadow the foundations he laid — including last season’s playoff push that saw us top the league table part way through the season.

Although it’s never easy to say goodbye, we part on the best of terms and with deep mutual respect. We wish Matt every success in the future.

The Club can also confirm the departure of Assistant Manager Keron Jackson. We thank Keron for his contributions, particularly during his time as interim manager, which helped secure our place in last season’s playoffs.

An update regarding the remainder of the backroom staff will follow in due course.

The search for a new First Team Manager begins immediately. Interested applicants are invited to contact: info@redditchunited.co.uk

We thank our supporters for their continued backing during this period of transition. As we plan for the next chapter in the Club’s development, fans are invited to attend a Q&A session with the Board on Thursday 8th May, 7pm start.
