Having agreed terms for another season, we spoke to our striker Alex Cameron to get his thoughts…
“I’m delighted to have agreed terms for another year, this Club has come on leaps and bounds since my first season at the Club and it’s been a pleasure to be a part of. Last season was special to me as I believe it’s been my best season personally and definitely the most enjoyable season I’ve had in adult football – the group of players in that dressing room were like my second family and it showed on the pitch. The fight, the trust in each other, the togetherness really carried us through some tough games and the success of last season reaching the playoffs just showed how special that group was. Hopefully, we can replicate or even better what we did last year and push for a higher finish and maybe even win the league as we know anything is possible!”
With the dressing room atmosphere a key part of our success last year, we asked how important that can be for his own personal performances…
“It’s definitely key to have a good dressing room as the bond & togetherness can get you through tough games throughout the season. We showed that last season, the fight to come back from being a goal or two down, where some teams would roll over. We dug deep and ground ourselves back into the game and ended up getting maybe a point or three.”
Finally, his message to the fans…
“Some clubs don’t appreciate the love and support fans show their club and it will always bug me as to why … Our fans are special ! Genuinely our 12th man all throughout the season home & away. Hopefully we can continue to draw more and more fans each and every game as the support really helps the boys, it doesn’t go unnoticed !!! I look forward to giving my all for that shirt and having you all behind me and the boys each step of the way.
