Redditch United Football Club is delighted to announce that Pritesh Sonpal has joined the club as a significant new investor. Mr Sonpal will take up a position on the Board of Directors and become a 40% shareholder, marking an exciting new chapter in the club’s development.

Pritesh will be well known within the local business community for his past involvement in both Lexon Pharmaceuticals and Knights Pharmacy. He brings extensive business experience, strategic insight, and a strong passion for community-driven sport.

Pritesh will also be a familiar face to many at the club, having supported the team at a number of recent matchdays, as well as working closely with the Board and staff during the consultation period leading up to this investment.

Crucially, this investment provides the club with increased long-term financial stability through the reduction of existing debt, placing Redditch United on a stronger and more sustainable footing for the future.

Chairman David Faulkner said:

“We are thrilled to welcome Pritesh to Redditch United. His reputation within the local business community speaks for itself, and he is already well known to many around the club. This investment not only strengthens our ambitions but also provides important financial stability by reducing debt. His commitment, values, and business acumen align perfectly with our vision for the future as we continue building a stable, ambitious, and community-focused football club.”

Incoming Director and Investor Pritesh Sonpal added:

“I’m excited to be joining Redditch United at such a pivotal moment. Having already spent time around the club and seen the passion of the supporters and the way the club impacts the local community. I know there is huge potential both on and off the pitch. I look forward to working with David, the board, and everyone connected to the club to help drive it forward.”

The club is also pleased to confirm that Pritesh will be in attendance at the home fixture against Real Bedford on 11th April.

The club will share further updates with supporters in the coming weeks.
