At Saturday’s game, against Bromsgrove Sporting, we were pleased to be joined the Premier League and girls from one of our partnered schools, Birchensale Middle School, to give a presentation on the pitch at half time. The Premier League Kit Scheme gifted an entire kit to Birchensale, whose core purpose is to encourage more young girls to participate in football. The scheme is open to all primary schools in England and Wales and teachers across the country have been able to apply for Nike football kit for their girls’ teams.
The scheme’s ambitions are to increase opportunities for girls to play with the expectation that schools applying for kit already offer or will start to offer girls’ extra-curricular football.
This programme builds on the 7000 free football kits that have already been given away via the Premier League Primary Stars schools programme since 2017.
We’d like to thank the Premier League for gifting the kit, as well as bringing down the prestigious Premier League trophy for people to have their photos with.
