Redditch United are thrilled to announce that Johnny Johnston, JJ, has signed a one year contract extension.
The 20 year old striker is the first to commit to the Reds for the 2024/25 season and is looking forward to building on how he ended last season…
JJ commented; “I’m grateful to be here for another season, and build on what we did last season which was a great achievement for the Club. Myself, the players and the management will aim to better next season and finish higher than we did last season. But I’m over the moon to sign another year and can’t wait to see all of you Reds again – let’s make the Cedar Road rocking. UTR!”
Despite a season hit with a couple of frustrating injuries, JJ netted 4 times and earned himself 7 assists whilst in a Red shirt, totalling 11 goal contributions in 19 appearances.
Tim Flowers had this to say upon his first bit of business; “I’m delighted to be able to announce JJ for a second season. He came to the fore towards the end of last season and demonstrated the talent that Blackpool saw in him. His progression was stopped at Blackpool as a result of a big injury he sustained. He’s an ambitious, talented young man looking to get back into the EFL and we’re hopeful we can help him with that.
His pace and movement are a big threat to the League and I’m really looking forward to working with him when all the lads come back in.”
We’re delighted that JJ has committed for the following season and look forward to seeing him a Red shirt once again.
